The current album "Humming of the Axis" was described by Rhythms Magazine as "an adroit blend of slide guitar and vocal versatility" an album that galvanized his love for acoustic & electric blues, folk, rock and alt country story telling. A great deal of his song content is extracted from the social landscape and cross section of Australian demographic's in its natural landscape. Be it urban sprawl or natural wonders, mining towns, community, city and the great out doors. Songs reeling with struggle, escape, fact, hope and recovery.
With accolades to have played for "Prince William of the Royal family" and support act for acclaimed international touring acts Gomez, Donovan Frankenreiter, Harry Manx and Australia's own Hat Fitz & Cara, Angus and Julia Stone, Jeff Martin (The Tea Party), Neil Murray, The Basics, Skinny Jean Band, Thelma Plum and so on. A legitimate Troubadour, Raconteur, Touring Artist, Songwriter, Award winning Film clip producer and Director, Actor and respected figure in his arts community. His live concert reviews have liken him as a bard with similarity to Harry Manx, Bruce Cockburn and Shane Howard. Playing custom built acoustic guitar by Jim Newman of Bonny Hills, NSW and of course vintage resonators. Reviews "Jeremiah Johnson's performance was outstanding!" Michael Crowley Program Director (Tablelands Folk Festival) "Homeland' is Ten wonderful songs from a great Australian Songwriter" Roland Landzorne (kanga Route France) "Among the solo artists Jeremiah Johnson was breath taking" Tablelands Folk Festival. "He creates immediate and earthy music" David Stavanger (Ghost Boy) "His song Bellenden Ker is pure folk brilliance" Jesse Kuch (Cairns Hit Magazine) "Jeremiah Johnson is the entire music package" Roz Pappalardo (Women in Docs) PERSONAL NOTE Music by my own definition is "painting invisible pictures using sound". A music career identified as "the Goal in a process". Im not overly romanced by the fame of others but more so inspired by the success of great musicians like Jeff Lang, Tommy Emmanuel, Bruce Cockburn, Harry Manx, Bob Brosman who have mastered their craft. Without sounding cliche, i calmly admit to an inner voice that eats at me unless I speak through music. I cant seem to stay focused on anything else.. All I really wish from life is to share music with as many people as possible and continue to please those who choose to support it... and of course to be the best that I can in a lifetime! – Jeremiah Johnson http://www.jeremiahjohnson.com.au/index.php |
