Jimmy Dowling and Kim Banffy
Two of the North Coast's finest. Great original music.

Jimmy Dowling's music has a raw but skilled quality throughout. It's authentic, confident, and engages your attention in its emotive, visual language. You'll find a nostalgic empathy and visceral reflection of the everyday, of the everyman. The tracks are poetic in lyrics and music, pushing boundaries and expectations. Dowling's strong delivery shines beyond the mediocre to touch your imagination. His precise selection of elite Australian musicians lifts this album onto the international stage.

Kim Banffy is a singer/songwriter from the Byron Bay area. Her music is reminiscent of 60s-70s singer/songwriter style, with a more modern, poppy, at times even slightly jazzy twist. Kim’s songs have been compared by other musicians to Joni Mitchell’s, and her voice to Joan Baez meets Karen Carpenter. Kim has been dubbed ‘The Poets’ songwriter’ for her ability to build evocative word pictures with meaningful lyrics and her skilful use of metaphor. This is an artist best-appreciated in venues where you could hear a pin drop. Her songs will move your emotions. With just her bass player, Kim’s shows are intimate and more folk-influenced.

Kim will be accompanied for this show by  bass, drums & an amazing violinist
